The Thomas County Commission has agreed to grandfather neighborhoods with single entrances and no through streets from the new right of way encroachment ordinance slated to take effect 1/1/03. Many people throughout the community voiced their concerns to the Commission.

The new modifications bring the Thomas County ordinance in line with most progressive local governments by providing more restrictions for major through roads than those for single entrance subdivisions. We will post the modified ordinance when it is available. Some neighborhoods have existing brick structures that will not be removed. All new structures must comply with the new ordinance.
