I read your editorial and I couldn't agree more. You might want to know however, that there IS a coffeehouse available to 18-30 yr olds on Friday night as a community outreach at New Covenant Church in the Armstrong Outreach Center (the gymnasium) behind the church. It starts around 7:30 PM and goes until 11 PM and is planning on extending to midnight soon. You really will have to stop by some Friday night and see what they do with the place. It is just awesome! Decorated to appeal to a young crowd. They have suspended a parachute from the high ceiling inside and then put silver partitions in that same circular arrangement around the room.....makes it looks slightly like meeting in a circus tent. No over head lighting...just lamps, string lights, etc. Live music, tables at different heights, couches and chairs. They have large checkerboards set up, and other things to spark conversation. They serve light snacks and awesome coffees, plain or flavored. Even though it is supposed to be for 18-30 yr olds, young married adults attend, and we "older" folks drop in from time to time too.
