Europe's Terror Role We all know that much of Europe has not supported the War on Terrorism. Of the large powers, only Great Britain has stayed with the United States through the entire effort. Spain started strong, but bowed to internal terrorism pressures and elected a government that does not fully support the U.S. Germany and France have been the leaders in anti-U.S. policy. What on the surface is believed by many to be a snub of the United States may actually be fear. For years, Europe has held liberal immigration policies as they related to people from the Middle East. France for example, has over 6 million Muslim residents. Before the Iraq War, many people in America were unaware of the huge Muslim populations in Europe. Europe has always been slow to respond to difficult situations. This cannot be made any more evident than the way that Hitler rose to power in WWII with relatively no checks to his power. Without the United States, European countries would all be German states. Over 60 years later, Europe has learned little about meeting threats head on. Sweden, the Netherlands, Britain, France, and Spain are all dealing with Islamic extremists. They have built a secret community within the heart of Europe. In France, for example, Islamic extremists are using the mosques to recruit terrorists for the Iraq war. European authorities, fearing a backlash from the Muslim community are allowing the mosques to become gathering places for those that would seek to destroy the free world. It should be no surprise to westerners to find that European mosques may also be weapons storehouses. Some political analysts have speculated that the organized migration to the free world is designed to spread Islamic extremists around the world. By using mosques as a place to meet privately to discuss terrorist plans or even stockpile weapons, a future uprising may be in the preparation phase. In Turkey for example, terrorist training for children in the form of a cartoon has made its way to the public. When the time is right, a major worldwide jihad could be undertaken causing worldwide unrest. The possibilities are sobering. Now it is true that not all mosques house terrorists or weapons. Many only house normal people expressing their own private belief. A step would be for houses of worship to open their doors to inspection to show the world that all is right. I don't think that this will ever happen in Europe. They are too afraid to draw a hard line against terrorism. They are too afraid to help the United States, not because of cowardice in battle, but in fear of the internal political price. It is time that Europe start supporting America if it
wants America to support Europe. United, the world can fight Islamic
extremism. Had the Europeans not neglected their duty to the world
in the War on Terrorism, Iraq would already be at peace. Well, at
least we have the British.
